นิทรรศการ Den ศิลปิน มิ่งมันติก สุไลมาน, ชนิกานต์ ทับทิม และ แทนขวัญ ทรงพานิช จัดแสดงวันที่ 29 มิถุนายน – 18 สิงหาคม 2562 The Jam Factory Gallery
ห้องนั่งเล่นเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของบ้านเน้นความสะดวกสบายในด้านการพักผ่อนมีความเป็นส่วนตัวของผู้เป็นเจ้าของบ้านโดยเฉพาะห้องนั่งเล่นจึงเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตประจำวัน นิทรรศการ Den* เริ่มจากแนวคิดที่ว่า
“จะทำยังไงให้ศิลปะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของชีวิตประจำวัน ”
มิ่งมันติก สุไลมาน, ชนิกานต์ทับทิมและแทนขวัญทรงพานิชนำประเด็นเหล่านี้มาสร้างผลงานศิลปะและเล่าเรื่องผ่านผลงานที่เกิดขึ้นจากชีวิตประจำวันเพื่อทำให้ศิลปะเป็นเรื่องใกล้ตัวและสนุกโดยนิทรรศการครั้งนี้จะเปลี่ยนแกลเลอรี่เป็นห้องนั่งเล่นในแบบฉบับของศิลปิน
Den* is part of a house that focuses on comfortable relaxation and the house owner’s privacy in particular, thus regarded as part of everyday life. The exhibition Den arose from the idea
“How to combine art with daily life.”
Consequently, Mingmantic Sulaiman, Chanikarn Thabthim and Tan-khwan Songpanich created art pieces based on such idea to express an everyday affair, making art more approachable and enjoyable.The exhibition transforms our art gallery into a den, as interpreted by the artists.
เริ่มด้วย ห้องรับแขก ห้องที่เข้าถึงได้ทันทีเมื่อก้าวเข้ามาในบ้าน ห้องที่ให้ความรู้สึกเป็นทางการ เป็นระเบียบเรียบร้อย ใช้รับแขกได้ทุกขณะ หากสังเกตให้ดีจะเห็นว่าห้องรับแขกนี้ถูกสอดแทรกสีสันของเก้าอี้สีแดงเอาไว้ ทำให้ห้องนี้ดูมีความสดใสบ่งบอกถึงเจ้าของบ้าน กำแพงสีขาวที่กั้นระหว่างห้อง เราจะพบพื้นที่ส่วนตัวของเจ้าของบ้าน ที่ตกแต่งด้วยผลงานศิลปะ มุมหนังสือ และของสะสมส่วนตัวของเจ้าของบ้าน ที่ให้ความรู้สึกอบอุ่น ปลอดภัย เป็นกันเอง
It begins with the living room – the room where the house entrance leads to first, the room which sends out formality and tidiness to welcome guests at all time. If you look carefully, the living room features the vibrancy of a red armchair which, in turn, brightens the room ambience. As you walk pass the white partition wall, you can see the house owner’s personal space which is decorated with art pieces, a book shelf and personal artifacts, giving a sense of warmth, security and friendliness.
กองหนังสือที่ยังอ่านไม่จบ แก้วน้ำที่นำมาดื่มระหว่างอ่านหนังสือ สมุดหรือกระดาษ ปากกา ดินสอ สีไม้วางไม่เป็นระเบียบบนโต๊ะสำหรับวาดรูป ทั้งหมดคือความรกที่ ชนิกานต์ ทับทิม สบายใจที่จะเห็นมัน นอกจากสิ่งของบนโต๊ะแล้วภายในห้องนั่งเล่นจะเห็น ภาพวาด illustration painting ที่ชนิกานต์ได้แรงบันดาลใจมาจากภาพยนตร์เรื่องโปรด ไม่ว่าจะเป็นตัวนักแสดง ฉาก หรือ บทสนทนาในภาพยนตร์เรื่องนั้น ๆ ผ่านการวาดเพื่อบันทึกภาพและความรู้สึกหลังดูภาพยนตร์จบ
Behind the white wall stand a pile of unfinished books, a glass of water to drink while reading, a notepad for drawing and scattered stationery on a table. Altogether they represent the kind of messiness that Chanikarn Thabthim feels comfortable with. In addition to objects on the table, the den contains an illustration painting which was inspired by Chanikarn Thabthim’s favourite film. Characters, settings, and dialogues from that film were painted to capture her feeling right after watching.
ด้านในสุดของห้องนั่งเล่นเราจะพบ Hand painted motion VDO เรื่องราวของดวงดาวที่จะทำให้ผู้ชมได้จินตนาการถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างพระอาทิตย์ และพระจันทร์ แทนขวัญ ทรงพานิช เปรียบห้องนั่งเล่นเหมือนตู้สะสมของรักขนาดใหญ่ แทนขวัญ สนใจความไม่เหมือนกันของดวงดาวในแต่ละวัน ความเปลี่ยนแปลงคือสิ่งที่น่าหลงใหลแม้จะเป็นดาวดวงเดิม เหมือนกับชีวิตที่สามารถหาความสุขได้ทุกวัน ผลงานเหล่านี้เกิดจากความชอบของแทนขวัญ ห้องที่เป็นเหมือนฐานทัพ ที่ที่เราจะใช้ส่องเพื่อนบ้าน ดูสภาพดินฟ้าอากาศ เป็นหลุมหลบภัย และยังบรรจุความทรงจำไว้อีกด้วย
The innermost corner of the den shows a hand-painted motion video. It tells the story of stars which makes audience imagine the relationship between the sun and the moon. Tan-khwan Songpanich compares the den to a massive storage cabinet packed with treasured objects. She puts emphasis on the dissimilarities of stars in each night, as variation is an intriguing quality – be it the same star. Likewise, one can find joy in everyday life. These art pieces sprang from Tan-khwan Songpanich’s interests. The room is like a military base, where one can spy on neighbours, observe the weather, find an asylum, as well as preserve memories.
Den คือพื้นที่เล็ก ๆ ภายในบ้านให้ความรู้สึกเป็นกันเองมากกว่าห้องนั่งเล่น มีความเป็น ‘ รัง ’ อบอุ่น ปลอดภัย และรู้สึกสบาย ๆ นิทรรศการที่จะทำให้คุณตกหลุมรักและสนุกกับการอยู่บ้าน ร่วมสัมผัสความอบอุ่นแสนธรรมดาของครอบครัวนี้ไปด้วยกัน
Den refers to a cosy space in a house, which is more comfortable than a living room and offers the quality of being a warm, safe and relaxing ‘nook.’ The exhibition will make you love and relish staying at home. Together let’s experience the simple comfort of this family.
